There is also a useful asymmetry here. Friction can be temporary. You do not need to swear off television forever to put the remote in a drawer for a month. The shift in mindset is small but load-bearing. Stop asking, “How can I have more discipline?” Start asking, “How can I make the wrong behavior less convenient?”

The most hostile choice architecture of the modern era is the one your phone ships with. The home screen is a temptation array. The notification system is a behavioral escalation engine. The Honest Results
After thirty days, I watched less television. I scrolled less. I read more. I went to the gym on more days than I did not. None of it felt heroic. None of it required a new identity.

You do not need to become a better person before you change your surroundings. Change your surroundings because you are a person: distractible, cue-sensitive, tired sometimes, predictable often.
